I Won!

**If you come here for cute pictures/video of our child, this post is going to disappoint**

I entered a blog giveaway awhile back for 14 pieces of Crate and Barrell serveware.  I enter blog giveaways here and there and have never won anything.  I am here to tell you there is absolutely a first time for everything!!!  By far, the funniest part of all of this is that the day I entered the giveaway, I was thinking of unsubscribing from this particular site.  You see, it is a blog run by a lady who has a very successful party business in NYC and I do find some inspiration in her posts from time to time, but mostly I scan through them quite quickly and think to myself in disgust “I do not want to even think about how much money she is paid to put together dessert tables for parties!”.

So there you have it…next time you are thinking of unsubscribing from a blog, enter their giveaway.  You may win!

Play Ball!

I am almost a week late in sharing this, but last Saturday was opening day here at The Nedell Household.  Jacob and Bailey played their first game of ball with Jacob doing a lot of the fetching!  I apologize for both the ongoing commentary and the psychedelic pajamas 🙂

Wishing you all a blessed Good Friday!

Rub-a-Dub-Dub

I have mentioned that Jacob loves bathtime. It is quite possibly his favorite activity.

Hmm, maybe his second favorite.  Either way, he enjoys it which makes it a great time to snap pictures of Happy Jacob.

Of course, these days he has been doing his best to assert his independence and even bath time has its tense moments.

But for the most part it is a sweet time for us to spend with our baby boy and appreciate his love of water.

Isn’t he just the cutest ducky ever?

Jacob has a new favorite activity:

I guess we don’t need to get him a pool any time soon!

Jacob and I had the privilege of sharing a picnic lunch with Tricia and Josiah on Wednesday afternoon in honor of Tricia’s birthday.  After eating we strolled around the Arboretum and I just had to share this picture of Josiah taking such good care of his baby cousin.

Happy Belated Birthday, Tricia!!!

It seems that a year has passed since we originally planned to start blogging.  So many things have happened in the past year and while we may go back at some point and highlight some of those events for you, I want to share a current event right now.

As you know, a little over a year ago Keith and I were blessed to become the parents of an amazing baby boy.  We have enjoyed watching Jacob Henry grow into a little boy the past year and on March 26th we celebrated his first birthday with many friends and family members!

Since we will soon be moving to the north-east and away from all of the people we love in Texas, Keith and I decided to we wanted to make a bigger deal out of his birthday than we might have otherwise done.  I started planning months ago and looking for a theme.  We went through many options but finally settled on rubber duckies since Jacob absolutely loves bathtime.  As an aside, if we leave his bathroom door open he will run to the tub and start banging on it excitedly, hoping we will randomly have bathtime in the middle of the day!  Once we settled on the duckies, I started scouring local craft stores and buying up anything yellow, blue or ducky-like!  Keith and I spent evenings after Jacob was in bed cutting, gluing, and doing all kinds of craft projects.  We made everything (except the cake) from the invitations to the decorations, and of course the food and favors.  I had so much fun with the DIY thing that I can’t wait to do another one next year (not sure that Keith shares my enthusiasm)!

It’s hard to believe that we have a toddler, but we look forward to watching him grow and develop over the years.   Happy Birthday, Jacob!  We love you so much and are so very thankful for you!
